Thailand’s Health Minister is now claiming that the first stage of clinical trials of a locally-produced vaccine brew will get started next month. The vaccine is a joint collaboration between the Government Pharmaceutical Organization (GPO) and the Faculty of Tropical Medicine, Mahidol University. The vaccine has performed satisfactorily in animal testing, showing an ability to stimulate immunity. Once the vaccine has successfully completed all 3 phases, the manufacturers will seek approval from the local FDA and, and then go into production locally.
